Stephen Irby

SANDUSKY — Behold. A legendary celebrity of Sandusky has transitioned to reunite with his Savior. Stephen Irby, 60, named after the great Stephen Allen, creator of "The Tonight Show," completed his journey on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021. On Thursday, June 1, 1961, he was born to Mattie Ruth (Richey) Irby and Samuel D. Irby Jr. To carry his legacy and honor, he left behind three children, Shameka' La'Toria (Jamar) Owens and Giovahna Darden, both of Sandusky, and one son, Stephen La'Darius Moore of Columbus; seven grandchildren, J'marshion, Kenneth, Christopher, Omari, Christtavayon and Stephon; two sisters, Annette Rhodes of Hawthorne, California, and Samantha Buck of Chicago, Illinois, and one brother, Danny Irby of Indianapolis, Indiana; along with a multitude of cousins, friends, acquaintances and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edwina and Jack Evans and Seenie and Samuel Irby; along with his daughter, La'Treshia D. Sowers El. Visitation will begin at 10:06 a.m. until the funeral at noon Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at Faith Memorial Church.
