Culver's opens Monday

PERKINS TWP. — Culver's is opening its doors Monday.The newest chain of the Midwestern-franchise, on Milan Road (U.S. 250) across from the Great Wolf Lodge, is owned and operated by Wisconsin native Michael Green."When the opportunity to come to Sandusky and open a Culver's presented itself, I jumped at it," Green said. "There's so much to do here even in the offseason and everyone seems to know everyone."Culver's was founded in 1984 in Wisconsin and has grown to include more than 700 restaurants in 24 states. Sandusky is the first franchise Green is opening, but he hopes to open more in the future."It's a family friendly environment. We want to make people feel at home and keep our old fashioned feel," Green said.He added people can expect great service and delicious food served fresh like its signature ButterBurgers and fresh frozen custard.Construction on the property began in mid-November and cost an estimated $1.2 million. Green said the restaurant has already been well received from the community and they had a larger turnout than they expected for the groundbreaking."People seem thrilled to have Culver's in the community," Green said.
