LaGodney named to state leadership role

PERKINS TWP. — Ability Works recently announced its CEO, Laura LaGodney, received an appointment to the Ohio Provider Resource Association board. The announcement came during the board's annual retreat in late September. The board represents a leading advocate for Ohio providers serving individuals with developmental disabilities for more than 40 years. LaGodney moves from her role as district representative board member to the role of board secretary. The term starts Jan. 1, 2022. LaGodney has been with Ability Works for more than 15 years and has served as CEO for three, pushing colleagues to embrace technology advancement and improving all the disability services it offers, according to a statement. "We are excited for her to move into this new role, serving individuals with developmental disabilities in Erie County as Ability Works CEO and now in a much larger role across Ohio as the Ohio Provider Resource Association board secretary," the statement read. For more than 45 years, Ability Works has been working to find ways so that people with disabilities can participate in everyday activities and all aspects of the community. Among the services it provides:homemaker-personal care, career planning, non-medical transportation and the new Clark Family Sensory Space.
