Old Woman Creek photo contest winners announced

HURON — The winners have been announced in the annual Friends of Old Woman Creek photography contest. "The winning photographs will be on display at the (Old Woman Creek) visitor center from Sept. 22-30 followed by a monthlong exhibit in October at the Huron Public Library," said Sandy Wright, president of the Friends of Old Woman Creek. This year, the group awarded cash prizes of $30 for first place, $20 for second place and $10 for third place along with ribbons and memberships in the group. Professional photographer Tim Fleck served as a judge. Mark Capucini of Avon Lake was the first-place winner in the adult category. Capucini also won first place in 2020. First place in the teen category and two honorable mentions went to James Daneker of Milan. James also won prizes in 2019 and 2020. Reese Hykes of Sandusky placed first and second in the youth category. River Hykes of Sandusky won second and third places in the teen category. Second and third places in the adult category went to Katie Myer of Sandusky. Adult honorable mentions went to Dennis Bean, Michelle Bock, Katie Myer, Cindy Duffala, Ashley Kreis, Robert Myer and Sue Blouch.
