Wild Pigeon Clothing flys into Fremont

FREMONT — Wild Pigeon Clothing celebrated its grand opening on Thursday. The Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce kicked off the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Wild Pigeon Clothing is a clothing store in downtown Fremont that offers clothing in all sizes, newborn to 5X, and products range from bodysuits, T-shirts, children's clothing and lacey lingerie. Wild Pigeon has operated online for the last five-plus years, and all of the fabric used is custom designed by owner Nicole Russell. "My grandmother taught me to sew, at the age of 10, and I won prizes at the fair for my sewing as a kid. But I hadn't touched a machine for years until after I had my oldest daughter, Sophie, in 2015," Russell said. "I was introduced by some friends to the online world of custom clothing and quickly became obsessed," she added. "What started as me sewing just for Sophie at our kitchen table in 2016 has turned into a business that even I could not have anticipated. Russell emphasized how it's always been her goal to open a storefront "and bring my love of fashion and fun designs to the Fremont community." She then explained what makes her business so special. "We design and print our own fabrics. This means that what you see at Wild Pigeon Clothing is unique to us and only us," Russell said. "My husband even draws art for us that we have had printed as well. Our options are limitless for clothing that speaks to a quirky and outgoing vibe."
