Woman stabbed to death

WILLARD — A Willard woman was stabbed to death Sunday night, and the suspect is in the hospital following a serious traffic crash. Margarita Roblero-Perez, 45, was found inside a residence in the 600 block of Wessor Ave. The suspect, Javier Estrella Lopez, 44, had already fled when police arrived, according to a Willard police statement. A 911 call to Willard police at 10:19 p.m. reported a stabbing. According to the report, Roblero-Perez died from her injuries. At about 11:10 p.m., Huron County sheriff's deputies tracked Lopez's phone to near Pickerel Creek and U.S. 6 in Sandusky County. Sandusky County sheriff's deputies were assisted by the Ohio Highway State Patrol in tracking the car to the Coon Hunt Creek Club in Vickery. When officers attempted to apprehend Lopez, he allegedly evaded and led a chase west on Ohio 229, east of Fremont. Sandusky County Deputy Bill Darling was setting up stop spikes further down Ohio 229 when Lopez approached. Lopez veered to avoid the spikes and collided with the deputy's vehicle. Darling, was not in his vehicle and was not injured, according to the Sandusky County Sheriff's Office. Lopez was taken to a Toledo hospital to be treated for serious injuries. He has been charged, but his condition was not known as of Monday evening.
