With Erica Taylor, bolster your body

SANDUSKY — From head to toe, the individual full-body services greatly range — but, collectively, they all aim to make anyone look good and, more importantly, feel even better. It's the motto for BODY by Erica Taylor, a new holistic wellness spa that recently opened at 1031 Pierce St. in Sandusky. The company's name comes from owner Erica Taylor, who's also a body specialist. She enlisted her daughter, Camaris Taylor, a lash tech expert, as her manager. Both strive to help their clients, no matter man or woman, improve themselves, which could consist of losing weight, shedding waistline inches or maintaining a healthier lifestyle. "The ultimate goal is to help you look better and help you reach your body goals so that you can achieve your acquired look," said Erica, a 2003 Perkins High School graduate and lifelong Sandusky resident. "Everything we do is an all-natural way, and an alternative to surgery, in contouring your body so you feel more confident about yourself." Among the services it offers: • Red light therapy: Incorporating different heat-related techniques, the therapy helps people break down hard-to-lose, or stubborn, fat, such as "love handles" or "kangaroo pouches." It also stimulates collagen production for smoother and tighter skin. • Wood massage therapy: Helping to better sculpt the body, this therapy uses wooden handheld tools, which can reduce and/or eliminate cellulite, increase lymphatic circulation, reduce wrinkles and alleviate stress. • Sauna detoxification: Allowing clients to burn upward of 1,500 calories per session, sauna treatments can also help repair damaged tissues, which help a person feel refreshed and rejuvenated. BODY also provides eyelash extensions, energy balancing, stress reduction, vacuum therapy, teeth whitening, waist training and Yoni steam. "Everything we do, we are certified in and it's been researched and proven elsewhere to work," Erica said. "No matter what you get, you will leave with a better overall state of your mind, body and soul." Erica, a local human resources manager, wants to set an example for her family. Other than Camaris, she brought in her husband, Fred; sons, Quincy and Frederick; granddaughter, Nova; and son-in-law, Zachary Harris, to help her out.
