Fundraiser created to help family after fire

PERKINS TWP. — A crowdfunding campaign was launched to aid a family that recently lost their home to a fire. The Weller family — Brian, Sara, Max and Charlie — escaped their home on July 22 but need to replace "most everything" they owned. "Donations will go to helping them to replace items until their insurance settles," their GoFundMe page states. Max and Charlie attend Perkins Schools, according to the district. Brittney Wadsworth, a family friend, created the fundraiser about a week ago, which has a $10,000 goal. "This is a very special family to us," she wrote on her social networking page promoting the crowdfunding event. "Our son, Logan, met Max Weller in first grade, and they have been best buddies ever since. Their family has become family to us. Let's help them during this difficult time."
