Getting groovy with it on Middle Bass Island

MIDDLE BASS ISLAND — The Middle Bass Island Music Festival will be returning to the island on Saturday, starting at noon and ending at 7 p.m. The event takes place at the Lonz Winery, 1719 Fox Road on the island, and has music, art, food and more. The family-friendly event lined up several art demonstrations for kids, adults and teens. Some of the demonstrations can be done at the event, and others can be taken home and done later. The demonstrations are done by local artists and the mediums taught include needle-punch embroidery, stained glass, weaving, rug hooking, painting on slate, drawing, acrylic painting and glass painting. While the demonstrations are going on, there will be live music performed by many local artists. The live music schedule is as follows: • Noon to 12:45 p.m. — North Coast Goats • 1-2 p.m. — Sonic Boom • 2:15-3:30 p.m. — Sam Hooper Blues Band • 3:45-5:15 p.m. — Chardon Polka Band • 5:30-7 p.m. — Cats on Holiday There will also be food trucks and drinks at the event. There is no charge to get in the door, however, some artists may charge a fee for take-home demonstration materials. It is recommended that festival-goers bring chairs or blankets to sit on the grass and festival games.
