Vehicle involved in shooting death found

SANDUSKY — Detectives are still looking for a suspect and the motive in a fatal shooting occurring this past weekend in Sandusky. But the apparent vehicle involved in the shooting death of Elisha Cannon was discovered in Seneca County, authorities said. Cannon, 34, died as a result of the shooting that occurred Saturday morning in the 1600 block of S. Larchmont Drive. Cannon was found inside a vehicle that was parked in a driveway near where he was doing stonework. Detectives also found 9mm shell casings at the scene. As of late Monday, no suspects have been identified, Sandusky police Chief Jared Oliver said. But a car was seen fleeing the scene. The car, a black Ford Fusion, was discovered in Old Fort, a northern region of Pleasant Township, in Seneca County on Sunday afternoon by the Seneca County Sheriff's Office. Oliver said that the plates on the Fusion appeared to have been stolen, and the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Cincinnati that same day. Search warrants were conducted on both the Fusion and on Cannon's vehicle. Additional evidence was recovered from both. Oliver did not provide additional details about the evidence, citing the ongoing investigation.
