Walter Earl Thompson Jr.

SANDUSKY — Walter Earl Thompson Jr., 33, of Sandusky, formerly of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2021, in MetroHealth Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 20, 1987, in Lorain, Ohio, and had spent most of his life living between Lorain and Sandusky, where he attended Sandusky High School. He was a former member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church and Thomas Temple, both of Sandusky. He was a former member of the Charlton Singers. He was always building things and taking things apart to see how they operated and then putting them back together. He also liked playing baseball and softball, playing cards and reading. He will be sadly missed by his father, Walter E. Thompson Sr.; stepmother, Minister Rose Taylor and his mother, Margie Smith; his siblings, Keba Smith (Carlos Chavis Sr.), Joe Smith Jr. (Peggy Smith), Catrice Smith, Nayna Smith; stepsiblings, Seth T. Taylor (Denise), Ronald T. Ballard (Michelle), Aaron Taylor III and a host of uncles, aunts and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack Henry Thompson, Rossie Thompson, Luther and Mattie Jones and a step-sister, Erica L. Shine. Services will take place on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Living Word Church-South Campus, 2002 E. 28th St., Lorain. Viewing will be from noon to 1 p.m. with service immediately following.
