Eloise Harvey

SANDUSKY — Eloise Harvey was born on the 12th of July in Meridian, Mississippi, to the late Booker T & Lottie Thedford. Her father called her name on the 19th of June 2021 (Juneteenth), and she now lives with Him forevermore. She came to Sandusky in the 1960s and was employed by Cedar Point, Providence Hospital, Memorial Hospital and completed her work journey at the Ohio Veterans Home with 35 years of service as a physical therapist and nurses aide. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, MaryAnn Hopson, Irene Hopson, and Mattie Ann Gulley. Her memory is cherished by her husband Joe Harvey; three children: Roger L. Moore, Bernice (Curtis) Johnson both of Sandusky, and Steven D. Moore of Cleveland, Ohio; six grandchildren Shameka' L (Jamar) Owens, DeVille C(Tiesha) Moore of Findlay, Ohio Stephen L. Moore of Columbus, Ohio, Tanecia L Moore, Kayla C. Moore, and Brittany L Moore all of Sandusky; 10 great-grandchildren; three stepchildren; Joestte, Dawayne, and Melissa; Special friend and sister n law Mrs. Bobbie McDonald along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is survived by her loving and praying sister Rev. Annie B. Grace of Meridian, Mississippi, and two brothers Johnny Smith (Zula Mae) Thedford and Columbus (Della Mae) Thedford, both of Fort Dodge, Iowa. Eloise's favorite most looked forward to pastime activity was conquering any store in sight, while with her best friend and only daughter! Along with shopping, she enjoyed being around her loving family and providing them with all the knowledge, advice, and tools that they needed to make it through life's journey. In the summer months, she enjoyed state to state traveling with her husband. An annual scholarship named Momma Eloise will be presented to Sandusky Transit System for any elderly in need of transportation. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St. Sandusky, Ohio 44870 with Rev. Curtis L. Johnson Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Toft Funeral Homes & Crematory will be handling the services.
