Report: 'Sovereign citizen' claims he's CIA

SANDUSKY — Witnesses told police a man with a small child was drinking beer in a public park and telling people he was a federal agent. The incident occurred at about 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Shoreline Park on East Shoreline Drive, according to a Sandusky police report. A 911 caller told police the man, later identified as a 51-year-old Florida resident, was with a child and had identified himself as a CIA agent, the report states. When police asked the man if he worked for the CIA, he told the officer that he couldn't disclose that information, according to the report. Another park-goer told police the man said he worked for U.S. Border Patrol; the man denied making that statement. While providing his ID to police, officers noticed something resembling a police badge in the man's wallet. Police had the man hand it over, and they learned it was a police badge sticker, the report states. An officer told the man he couldn't drink in public and poured out his beer. The man also told police he is a "sovereign citizen," according to the report. Officers did not charge the man and gave him a warning. Police told him he could be charged if they received more reports about him identifying himself as a law enforcement officer, the report states.
