FREMONT — A local man is giving households across northern Ohio the chance to start their very own gardens. Dan Larcey, of Fremont, is the founder and owner of Rototilling Services, a business that provides customers with tilled land to start a garden. He began Rototilling Services in April as a temporary business with the intent of providing "a nice service" to community members during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, Larcey said, it has gained much traction and a lot of attention. Rototilling Services serves the counties of Sandusky, Ottawa, Erie, Seneca, Huron, Lucas, Lorain and Cuyahoga. He offers garden sizes from 5 feet by 10 feet to 1 acre with his costs varying, all dependant upon the level of service provided. He can create gardens from scratch and can work on an already established garden. Larcey, however, does not plant seeds or starter plants. Larcey describes that, when his business began, the weather was nice, warm and perfect for gardening. The recent cold, rainy weather has provided some difficulty for those wanting to start gardens, however, Larcey remains optimistic with summer ahead. The sole service of his business is to create and start gardens.
