Man threatens wife with knife while holding infant son

SANDUSKY — A city man walked toward his wife with a knife while holding their infant son early Saturday morning, appearing to threaten her, according to a report by Sandusky Police.Stanley L. Tomsey, 63, 1500 block Columbus Ave., was charged with domestic violence.Just before 5 a.m., officers responded to the residence to find Tomsey trying to enter the home's back door while holding their son. He told them he was bringing the boy outside and claimed his wife came at him with a knife. He told them she had mental health issues from the pregnancy and birth of their son and he was concerned for her, the report stated.Police noticed Tomsey smelled of intoxicants and he repeated his claims. But the woman stated Tomsey grabbed a paring knife and began to walk toward her while holding their son, but didn't use the knife on her. Afterward, he put their son in his crib, pushed the woman down onto a bed and slapped her face, according to the report.When the woman called police, Tomsey left their residence with their son.
