A full serving of new Cedar Point food options

Cedar Point sure has with all kinds of new dining improvements for the 2017 season.So lets dig right in and go over what you can expect when you walk through the Cedar Point gates:Melt Bar & GrilledMelt Bar & Grilled is scheduled to open on May 12. Not only will you get to chow down on some of Melt's iconic sandwiches, but you will also get to eat a Cedar Point exclusive Firecracker Chicken sandwich and Cedar Point fresh cut fries.But it gets better: Just wait until you see the inside of the new Melt.In collaboration with Melt's owner and founder Matt Fish, the restaurant will feature tons of artifacts paying tribute to Cedar Point's past. You will see the Joe Cool Cafe sign on the walls, a mural featuring all kinds of Cedar Point's historic rides, old ride signs, prints and, of course, the signature wall of holiday blowmolds. The Melt restaurant will simply be stunning.An interesting fact we learn is that Fish personally comes in and hangs all the artwork. Melt replaced Joe Cool's Cafe, but they kept the sign to use it in Melt's design. Melt is scheduled to open on May 12. Root's PoultryAre you familiar with Ohio's own Root's Poultry? The park has teamed up with Root's to offer its signature fresh chicken, shredded chicken, shredded beef and sides dishes. Stop by Sky Ride Refreshments, across from Scrambler, and try one of the dishes. Or try new specialty macaroni and cheese options.Guests with the Cedar Point dining plans will also be happy to learn Root's options are included.Cedar Point has teamed up with Root's Poultry to serve its signature fresh chicken sandwiches. The chicken is offered by Sky Ride Refreshments, across from Scrambler.Famous Dave'sAnother food favorite among guests is Famous Dave's. Normally, guests visit Dave's by the Cedar Point Marina. But this year Cedar Point has converted the Grist Mill Refreshments stand near Snake River Falls into Famous Dave's BBQ Shack.Guests will be able to get various barbecue meat plates and sides now inside the park. A side note: Dining plans will not be accepted at Famous Dave's this season.Cedar Point is still evaluating where to relocate the smoked turkey legs.Wagon Wheel PizzaThe Los Gatos stand has been converted to Wagon Wheel Pizza, which now offers fresh-pressed pizza dough. Buckaroo's BurritosOne of our favorite places to eat at Cedar Point was the Chuck Wagon Western Foods, and its Chipotle-style burritos. But the name did not necessarily ring out with what guests could get inside.So the restaurant is being renamed to Buckaroo's Burritos. In addition, you will see better premium meat options, and it is on the dining plans.Cedar Point renamed Chuck Wagon Western Foods to Buckaroo's Burritos so it would give guests a better idea of the menu at that location.Auntie Anne's and CinnabonWith the expansion of Cedar Point Shores water park, Cedar Point lost the building that housed Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon in the former Challenge Park.New for 2017: Both Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon have been relocated into the CJ's Provisions building, right before the Frontier Trail tunnel.The building is now divided into three sections. Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon on one end; CJ's Provisions in the middle, offering fresh wraps and specialty macaroni and cheeses; and then Toot Sweets on the end with Cedar Point's famous funnel cakes.Both Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon have been relocated into the CJ's Provisions building, right before the Frontier Trail tunnel. They are located next to Toot Sweets.Toft DairySandusky's own Toft Dairy and its famous ice cream has a long-standing relationship with Cedar Point. The partnership continues to expand for 2017 with the addition of a new cotton candy-inspired ice creamBut it gets better: We received an exclusive that Cedar Point and Toft's will also be releasing a buckeye-flavored soft serve ice cream. Who loves peanut butter and chocolate? You will not only be able to get the new buckeye-flavored soft serve in the park but also at Cedar Point Shores and the Sports Force Park at Cedar Point Sports Center.Famous french friesCedar Point's iconic fresh-cut fries celebrates its 75th birthday this year. Look for new signage and possible special promotions this season.À la carteOnce Cedar Point Shores opens on May 27, you will see a whole new array of dining options that we are really excited to try.Melt Bar & Grilled at Cedar Point is scheduled to open on May 12. Stockade Refreshments was redesigned but the menu remains the same.
