PREP ROUNDUP: Huron's Camp hits grand slam, earns win in circle

TROY TWP. — Kennedy Camp provided herself with all the run support she needed Thursday night in Huron softball's 13-2 win at Eastwood. Eastwood intentionally walked Huron cleanup hitter Carly Chambers in the third inning to get to Camp, who promptly went deep for a grand slam. In the circle, Camp worked all five innings of the mercy-rule shortened victory, allowing two hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out two. The Tigers (7-3, 1-1 SBC Bay) also got plenty of offense around Camp. Rae Roldan went 3-for-3 with a triple. Eliza Maloney went 2-for-3 with a triple. Smythe pitched the first two frames, allowing one hit while recording all six of her outs via strikeout. Then Michaels came on for the final three innings and didn't allow a hit while punching out seven. PC (2-5, 0-2 SBC Bay) had five players tally three hits in the victory: Abbey Hittepole, Sarah Webb, Rose, Mackenzie Martinez and Abbie Foote. Webb drove in four runs, as well. Preston Ray led the way with three hits, including a double, while Keegan and Tyler Ray both had two hits of their own.
