SANDUSKY — For more than 30 years, one Sandusky-based entertainment company has been exceeding expectations in making wedding dreams come true.Its vision of excellence now grows with the grand opening of their new venue, Ten Fifty Eight.Rock and Roll ExpressFrom disc jockeys to photography, premium lighting and even full ceremony packages with officiates, Rock and Roll Express is a premiere entertainment company that prides themselves on being able to provide it all."We have a concept in our company that we never say no. So if a bride asks us for something, she's going to have it," said owner Jeff Goretzki. "If she wants giraffes at her wedding, she's going to get giraffes at her wedding."But making brides dreams come true isn't all Rock and Roll Express does. All services offered are available for events such as corporate mixers, holiday parties, school rallies, dances and even fundraisers.Rock and Roll Express has close to forty staff members whose collective talents and efforts ensure the optimal entertainment experience."We have a phenomenal staff and that's the nice thing about owning a company. You can pick and choose who you want, and hire only the greatest," Goretzki said with pride. "And we do only hire the very best people, which ensures our brides have the absolute best day of their life."As the company grew, so did Goretzki aspirations for his company.Ten Fifty EightIn late 2016, the opportunity arose to purchase the banquet hall, formerly known as Caesars Crystal Palace, in the Sandusky Plaza on Cleveland Road."We became friends with the previous owners because we used to DJ here all the time and he mentioned that he had an interest in selling," Goretzki explained. "Initially, I was a little apprehensive, but it seemed like a very good fit. We decided to go forward in mid-November and we took possession Jan. 1."When new year began, Goretzki and his team went to work, upgrading everything about the business right down to the name.After much deliberation and input from both Rock and Roll staff and clients, the name "Ten Fifty Eight" was chosen, as an homage to the address and to reflect the modernization to happen within.From there, the interior renovations began. Cosmetic changes to hall included new drywall, doors, lighting, paint and carpets, and miscellaneous amenities being repaired or upgraded.Additional features include an exclusive "brides room" for weddings only accessible by key code entrance, a commercial kitchen, a wet bar with setups and the option for a full staff and LED up-lighting"We've put in a lot of work. Every surface is new, we took everything and gave it a big shine," Goretzki said. "We took the hall from old and drab, to modern and fresh. We turned it into a top market venue but we are maintaining mid market pricing."Casino NightIn honor of the grand opening of Ten Fifty Eight, Rock and Roll Express is hosting Casino Night at 5 p.m. Saturday, complete with a ribbon- cutting ceremony.Just as name implies, the party will feature entertainment in the form of casino games, such as roulette, blackjack, and Texas hold'em poker, with staff members to assist less experienced players."We do Casino Nights often and they're always a success," Goretzki said. "It's fun and we make it super simple with house rules for people who might not have ever touched these games."Along with the games, a DJ will be spinning fun tunes and giving away prizes and throughout the night and there will be a photo booth. Hors d'oeurves will be served, giving attendees the chance to sample the catering options of the company and a cash bar will be available.The talented crew of Rock and Roll Express will also be around to meet and chat with anyone interested in learning more about the services they offer.As if a night of fun, checking out a new business wasn't enough to entice prospecting attendees, the entire grand opening celebration is also a fundraiser event for the Humane Society of Erie County. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the animal protection organization."We have worked with them in the past through various events and we love what they do. I'm a big fan of animals and it's an organization that's not always funded well and they always need help.
