Facing felony, probation officer resigns

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky Municipal Court probation officer resigned after he was arrested on a felony sex charge. Sandusky Municipal Court probation officer Adam Lieb, 38, handed in his resignation Thursday, which goes into effect Feb. 17, according to a copy of the document. In his resignation letter, Lieb cites "personal reasons" as his reason for leaving. As a part of a separation agreement with the city, Lieb will be able to use sick days through Feb. 17, according to a copy of the agreement. Background Lieb was arrested Tuesday on a third-degree felony compelling prostitution charge, according to a Sandusky police report. Records from the Erie County Jail show he was released on a $10,000 bond also on Tuesday. Lieb allegedly, on multiple occasions, paid a child for sex. Sandusky police released a report relating to Lieb's charge on Wednesday. According to the Jan. 27 report, which lists Lieb's name, police were called to an East Perkins Avenue home for a "weapons offense." The report doesn't provide additional details. Police Chief Jared Oliver said Lieb reported being assaulted and had injuries to his head. It was during this call police learned of the sex allegations. Lieb appeared in Sandusky Municipal Court for an arraignment on Wednesday. Coming soon: The Register reviews Lieb's personnel file.
