Port Clinton man sentenced to 2 years on drug charge

PORT CLINTON — A Port Clinton man was sentenced to two years in prison after police found methamphetamine and mushrooms in his home. Robert A. Emigh, 37, of the 3200 block of W. Harbor Road, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree misdemeanor, in February, according to court records.Emigh was sentenced by Judge Bruce Winters with the Ottawa County Common Pleas Court on March 16. The case stemmed from a search warrant executed on Emigh's home in December 2015.Ottawa County Drug Task Force Agents found methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia inside the home. Ottawa County sheriff's deputies assisted during the search. More than 12 grams of methamphetamine were found in a safe in Emigh's home and on his person, according to the county prosecutor's office. Methamphetamine is a stimulant derived from a common ingredient in cold medications, county prosecutor James VanEerten said. Emigh accepted a plea deal to plead guilty to aggravated possession of drugs in February. In exchange, the state agreed to dismiss a lesser charge.
