[gallery]SANDUSKY — As much as the amusement park tries, sometimes it's hard to keep a secret.People near and far flock to Cedar Point to enjoy themselves on the collection of world-renowned roller coasters and other rides.But the masses also visit Sandusky's premier entertainment venue to uncover clues, which can help them piece together what's coming next.This weekend, Cedar Point shares its biggest secret for the 2019 season: Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island debuts to the public.When executives announced the park would remove the Dinosaur's Alive walkthrough exhibit following the 2018 season, guests naturally began to speculate on new possibilities for the island.With both Shoot the Rapids gone, and now the dinosaurs extinct, the only inhabitant to the island that remained was Millennium Force.Or is it?Once guests make their way over to Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island, they will encounter clues, which could reveal ideas about future rides and/or attractions coming to Cedar Point. As it turns out, a group of natives has taken over the island, and they have secrets to tell. Will they reveal what Cedar Point has in store for the big 150th-anniversary celebration in 2020?It's doubtful their mirror balls can see that far into the future. But the secrets of Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island will progress throughout the day and season.So, the more guests visit the island, the more they'll see where the story leads.Once guests make their way over to Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island, they will meet characters at stations throughout the area. Lay of the landThe idea behind Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island derives from the award-winning Ghost Town Alive! experience at Cedar Point's sister park in California, Knott's Berry Farm.This weekend, Cedar Point shares its biggest secret for the 2019 season: Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island debuts to the public.Knott's Ghost Town — while similar to Cedar Point's Frontier Trail, it is much larger — comes alive with character actors telling the stories of the town of Calico and the actors wild west experiences. The entire Ghost Town Alive! event changes daily, as the stories come together with interactions from guests.Guests accessing Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island can visit the area and interact with actors in a new kind of storytelling encounter at Cedar Point. Forbidden Frontier will have a similar origin. There is also an alternate route that takes guests through an area where they can blast water into the air and walk through some of the rock structures and water features from the former Shoot the Rapids attraction.People can access Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island several different ways. Odds and ends• One of the more interesting details about Forbidden Frontier actually has something to do with its original inhabitant, Millennium Force. The interactions with the roller coaster, the spectacular angles, make for an exciting spot to get the perfect camera shots.• Once on at the island, guests can enjoy food and beverage items not found elsewhere in the park at Provisions. Enjoy menu items like barbecue brisket paninis, pork chipotle paninis, fry bread, turkey legs, roasted corn, mini hot dogs on a stick, shrimp on a stick, steak on a stick and, for dessert, crepes filled with peaches and cream or strawberry shortcake. The whole idea is for menu items to be easy to carry as they make their way around the island. Provisions is not included on the Cedar Point dining plan for 2019.On Forbidden Frontier, Cedar Point's newest attraction, people can eat treats not found anywhere else in the amusement park, including crepes filled with peaches and cream. • Access to Forbidden Frontier is free and included in the price of admission to Cedar Point.
