Man arrested on felonies after foot chase

SANDUSKY — Police arrested a man on felony warrants after he allegedly fled from officers on Monday. The suspect, Ronald Malone, 35, of Hendry Street, was arrested on three felony bond revocation warrants through Erie County, and was also charged with misdemeanor obstructing official business. The incident occurred at a home on Ashburn Drive at about 11 a.m. Monday, according to a Sandusky police report. An officer spotted Malone and attempted to arrest him on the warrants, leading Malone to allegedly run into an Ashburn Drive home. He then allegedly left the home and ran across railroad tracks before eventually giving himself up around 13th Street and Alpine Trail, the report states. The warrants relate to at least one pending Erie County court case, which involves allegations Malone made sexual contact with a child younger than 13, according to Erie County Court of Common Pleas records. Malone's bond in that case was revoked in September for failing to appear in court and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He has not yet entered any plea in that case. Malone was taken to the Erie County Jail, where he remained held without bond as of Tuesday evening.
