Fire damages unoccupied residence in Groton Township

UPDATE 5:20 p.m.GROTON TWP. — A fire broke out in an unoccupied residence in Groton Township on Wednesday.Groton Township fire Chief Kerry Jett said the source of the fire was likely electrical. He said no one was home when the fire broke out and that no one is currently living in the residence.Dispatchers relayed the call to firefighters around 2 p.m. Groton Township and Margaretta Township firefighters had the fire under control within about 15 minutes, Jett said. They remained on scene afterward to deal with the damage.Jett said the fire was contained to one bedroom of the residence, a one-story home on the 7000 block of Magill Road.
