Kevin Noel Johnson

SANDUSKY — Kevin Noel Johnson, 56, of Sandusky, passed away on Dec. 23, 2020, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, after a brief illness. He was born May 24, 1964, in Sandusky and was a 1982 graduate of Sandusky High School. He loved sports and was an accomplished baseball player and had at one time tried out for the Cleveland Indians. He attended Cleveland State University and studied computer technology. While residing in Los Angeles, California, he was employed at Huntington Bank. His favorite pastime involved his love for music as a disc jockey throughout the state of Ohio. He also enjoyed cooking and helping with the family catering business. He was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Sandusky. He is survived by a daughter, Micah Latham, of Columbus, Ohio; his devoted and loving mother, Francis Johnson; brothers Byron Johns, Stan Johnson and Gerald (Michelle) Johnson, all of Sandusky; one sister, Tammy Johnson of Santa Monica, California, and a host of nieces and nephews. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, George Johnson; a sister, Vivian D. Johnson; paternal and maternal grandparents; uncles, Joe Lewis, L.A. Lewis Sr., Charles Ezell Lewis and Samuel Walker Sr.; aunts, Katherine Louise Lewis, Genease Hyatt and Helen Anita Robinson. A walk-through public viewing will be Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, from 10 a.m. until time of private family services at noon at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1920 Shelby St. (Eddy Henry Way) in Sandusky, Ohio. Pastor Curtis L. Johnson Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Sandusky. Social distancing, COVD-19 safe practices and wearing a mask are required.
