CLYDE — Shortly before they became alumni, Clyde High School principal Joe Webb gave one last homework assignment to members of the class of 2019."Give your parents a hug and tell them how much you care for them," he said. "You can see the pride they have for every one of you."In about an hour, more than 170 students became Clyde-Green Springs Schools' newest graduates Sunday afternoon.In their speeches, the class's eight valedictorians thanked loved ones and district staff for their support, recalled their favorite high school memories and spoke words of encouragement."No matter what paths we take, I believe we'll be successful because we've been given the tools to do so," co-valedictorian Delaney Gill said."This class is different and special," co-valedictorian Derick Harrah told families at the ceremony. "Keep an eye out for all the good things they'll do."Superintendent Dennis Haft encouraged the class to show kindness to each person they meet."Give everyone a chance," he said. "In the end, we all want the same things.
