Sexually provocative act involving 100-year-old resident results in charge for former nursing home employee

SANDUSKY — A former nursing home employee is facing a criminal charge following a sexually provocative act involving a 100-year-old resident, according to the Sandusky Police Department.Another former employee used a cellphone to record Brittany L. Fultz, 26, of Marblehead, making a provocative advance toward the male resident, said Sandusky police Detective Anthony Bath. He described the advance as similar to a lap dance. He said the resident, who has dementia, made indications that he was not on board with Fultz's actions."He did not want this going on," Bath said.The incident took place at The Commons of Providence, at 5000 Providence Drive, a couple of months ago, Bath said. Records through Sandusky Municipal Court indicate it occurred in early December. The other former employee, who is identified in a police report as a 27-year-old woman, approached a supervisor about the incident on Feb. 12, according to Bath and Staci Lehmkuhl, executive director of Providence Care Centers.The woman who reported the incident is not being charged, Bath said.Lehmkuhl said Providence Care Centers immediately reported the incident to the local police department and to the Ohio Department of Health. She said Fultz was placed on administrative leave and has since been terminated.Lehmkuhl said the other woman involved in the recording is likewise no longer employed by The Commons of Providence."We are cooperating with local police who are handling the investigation, and we will not comment further about the ongoing investigation," Lehmkuhl said in a statement.Bath said the women are not believed to have recorded more than one video or to have shared it on social media. The incident remains under investigation.Fultz was booked into the Erie County jail Friday on a gross sexual imposition charge, classified as a fourth-degree felony, according to jail records.
