Photography studio comes into focus

NORWALK — Sherri Nutter lives on Main Street with her husband, Ryan, and their three children: Macie, Max and Miles. She also visits and supports the many businesses populating uptown Norwalk's busiest thoroughfare. So, to her, it only makes sense she work from there as well. "There is just something special about having a shop located here," Nutter said. Nutter, a professional photographer, recently opened her self-named business — Sherri Nutter Photography — in a space beside Excel Bike once occupied by Patina 46. "I have always loved the art of photography and the flexibility of taking on clients when my kids were younger. It seemed like a natural fit," said Nutter, who began a home-based business in 2016 but started studying photography a decade earlier. "It just continued to grow. Now that my kids are in school, I can expand my business." Nutter specializes in what she calls "professional quality photography," often capturing weddings, birthday parties, family gatherings, senior portraits and other milestone occasions. Her new space, however, allows Nutter to add a new component to her shooting arsenal. "I can do more studio work here," said Nutter, whose layout allows her to offer varying scenes for different backdrops. "My clients can come to me with a vision, and I can help create that in my studio." Nutter welcomes anyone to stop by her business. Starting this coming week, she'll be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. She's equally excited about starting a business and investing in her hometown. "I love Norwalk and this community," Nutter said. "I didn't grow up here, but the time that I have lived here has been phenomenal. All of the uptown businesses have been so supportive of me and welcoming me into their community."
