Dennis Charles Pennix

SANDUSKY — Dennis Charles Pennix, Sr., 53, Sandusky, departed this life peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, October 17, 2020. He was born on November 9, 1966, in Greensboro, North Carolina. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was known for singing. He especially loved the blues and many blues artists, most notable B.B. King and Sam Cooke. He loved to cook, dance, and make people laugh. Most of all, he loved his family. Dennis leaves to cherish his memory his ex-wife, Tina Manning-Pennix; father, Charles (Diane) Pennix, of Greensboro; eight children, Yalonda (Dylan) Galloway, of Odenton, Maryland, Renata Arrington and Ranisha Arrington; both of Columbus, Ohio; Dennis C. Pennix, Jr. and Joshua Tucker, both of Stoneville, North Carolina, and Denzel Pennix, Tevin Brown, and Takhai Brown, all of Sandusky; 23 grandchildren; siblings, twin sister, Denise (Willie) Williams, Rebecca (Steven) Hartley, Ann (Darryl) Pennix, and Erica Thomas; special cousin, Samuel Davis; special friend, Bobbie Garrett; Goddaughter, Finesse Fenderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Deerita Pennix; and grandparents, Willie Hills, and Thurman and Thelma Snipes. Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020 until funeral services begin at 12 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
