Algo's specializes in gourmet grilled cheeses

NORWALK — Sue Kuhlman doesn't mind being grilled about her new business. In fact, she welcomes it. "I had worked at (Star Diner) for 11 years and ran (Charlie's Bar) for 25 years with my parents," Sue said. "So I have experience. Plus my daughter and I both have chronic illnesses, and it's hard to keep a regular job. But we thought we could do this." Along with her daughter, Donna, Sue recently opened up Algo's. The name breaks down into two halves, as Sue explains: • Al stands for her grandfather Al, "who I was very close to." • Go stands for what's served up: "Food on the go." Algo's specializes in serving gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and side dishes. "Everything is fresh," Sue said. "We make our grilled cheeses on a commercial great, which you cannot beat. It's not like it would taste at home." The mobile food truck, parked on East Main Street behind the Glass Bar, offers 10 styles of sandwiches on the menu. "But you can specialize your own, take off (items, put on (items), substitute. Whatever you want, we can do." Located on East Main Street behind the Glass Bar, Algo's is open during the daytime on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
