Sandusky bar to temporarily close

SANDUSKY — An establishment known for inclusivity recently cut its guest list down to zero. Sandusky Crowbar, one of the longest-running and most popular bars in downtown Sandusky, announced it will temporarily cease operations due to fallout from COVID-19. Without revealing a tentative reopening date, the company publicized its stance on Monday through social media. "As you may be aware, over the last three weeks, since the Ohio bar 10 p.m. closure mandate was put into place, we have incrementally diminished our hours," the statement read. "After continued consideration and thoughtfulness, we have decided to temporarily close," it went on. "We know that this closure is incredibly hard for our staff and customers. We do not take it lightly and continue to thank you for your support." The post stressed how no employee came down with COVID-19 or showed symptoms of being sick. "We have taken the virus very seriously since the onset," the post read. "We believe strongly in maintaining a healthy and safe but fun environment, and we look forward to seeing you all again very soon." Many know Crowbar as a business promoting LGBTQ causes. The bar often hosts drag shows and other showcases spotlighting supporters of this community and believers in equal rights.
