Eugene and Elizabeth Schalk wedding anniversary

Eugene and Elizabeth Schalk, Fostoria, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with a Mass of thanksgiving at St. Wendelin Catholic Church at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, followed with a family gathering at a later date. The couple were married on Sept. 3, 1955, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sandusky, Ohio, with Rev. Joseph Inkrott officiating. The former Elizabeth (Betty) Herb is the daughter of the late Louis and Marian Herb. She is a homemaker. Eugene (Gene) Schalk is the son of the late Linus and Berneda Schalk. He is retired from Fostoria Industries. They have two sons, Jeffry (Stacy) Schalk of Herndon, Virginia, and Nicholas (Berenice) Schalk of New Braunfels, Texas; and three daughters, Linda Schalk of Fremont, Ohio, Marcia (Bradley) Walters of Pickerington, Ohio, and Sandra (Christopher) Donahoe of Lakewood, Ohio. They have 12 grandchildren; Meghaan, Kathryn and Andrew Walters, Joshua and Adam Schalk, Mary Beth, Aaron, Christin, Brian and Kellyn Donahoe, and Nicole and Matthew Schalk. The Schalks are members of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and enjoy traveling, card playing and spending time with their children, grandchildren and friends. They thank God for all of their blessings.
