George L. Reamer

NORWALK — George L. Reamer, 83, of Norwalk, passed away Friday evening, Aug. 23, 2019, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center. George believed in eternal life through Jesus Christ his savior.He was born Sept. 10, 1935, in Butler, Pa., to George W. and Anna (Wise) Reamer, and was a graduate of Norwalk High School. He retired after 40 years at Kroger's and over 30 years as a motor route carrier with his wife, Anita, with the Norwalk reflector. He attended the Milan Friends Church and Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed tinkering on cars — Honda's were his favorite — and metal detecting.George is survived by his children, Melanie (Mike) Volk of Clyde, Cheri (Bob) McGinn of Uvalde, Texas and Barry (Pat) Reamer of Bellevue; grandchildren, Chad Volk, Zac (Shelby) Volk, Gretchen (Brian Warner) Volk, Brett McGinn, Gabrielle Reamer, Maggie Perez, Alexis (Mike) Risner, Joel (Sadie) Reamer, Bill Montgomery, Jon (Melissa) Montgomery, Melinda Baliski and Melanie (Joel) Woodbury; 25 great-grandchildren; siblings, Grace West, Linda Ferguson, Willard (Jan) Reamer, Samuel (Maryanne) Reamer, Susie (Ardt) Hesterman and Janet Hetrick; in-laws, Donna Eldridge and Sharon Pugh; nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita B. Reamer in 1992.Friends may call from 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, until services at 1 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, with the Rev. James McClain officiating.
