Update: Shooting suspect arrested

Update 3:25 pm SANDUSKY — Police arrested a suspect in a Monday afternoon shooting at Camp and Frantz streets. Curtis Harris, 67, of Heritage Drive, was charged with one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony. Local law enforcement responded to a warehouse building at Camp and Frantz streets after a reported shooting following some type of altercation. Police arrived and found a victim, a 21-year-old Sandusky man, with gunshot wounds to his arm and buttocks. The victim was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center where he's being treated, Detective Kevin Youskievicz said. It's believed the injuries are not life-threatening. Police then found Harris at the hospital, where he was being treated for some injuries, and he allegedly said he was involved in the altercation, Youskievicz said. Officers took him into custody after he was released from the hospital. It's not known what the altercation was about, or what weapon was used or how many shots were fired, Youskievicz said. Police don't believe any other people were involved in the incident. Harris remains in the Erie County jail without bond as of Monday afternoon. There's a police presence centered around a warehouse building at Camp and Frantz streets. Some officers are carrying assault weapons though it appears whatever happened might have concluded.
