Sandusky Library summer reading program begins

SANDUSKY — Sandusky Library has started its summer reading program and patrons of all ages are invited to take part. The 2020 Summer Reading Challenge starts Monday and ends Aug. 8. Everyone is invited to read for 10 hours and complete five suggested activities over the course of seven weeks. Every Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday during curbside snack hours (noon to 12:45 p.m.), people can pick up a packet of weekly activities on the theme of Imagine Your Story. Enter through Columbus Avenue and look for library staffers in costumes and special hats. Sandy Seagull also may show up. To track your activities, register at sanduskylib.beanstack.org or download and use the Beanstalk app, available Monday. Individuals and families can register, and daycares can sign up an entire classroom. People who prefer to use paper can pick up a paper reading log or weekly activity packets by using the curbside pickup service at the library's website or calling 419-625-3834. Prizes will be handed out in September, with kids up to age 3 getting a free book, young people 4-16 getting a set of Imagine Your Story badges and people 16 and up getting Bicentennial badges that portray people and events around the community.
