Sandusky Library begins curbside service

SANDUSKY — The Sandusky Library has started curbside service for patrons eager to check out books, movies, TV shows and other library items. The library has released instructions on how to do that. For now, patrons are limited to what's inside the building. Transfers of materials from other CLEVNET member libraries in northern Ohio haven't resumed yet. Sandusky Library's reopening date will be announced later. Here's how to check out materials: 1. Reserve your items online at sanduskylib.org or by calling the library at 419-625-3834. Have your library card handy. Remember, only items within the library are available. If you need help figuring out what you want, a library staffer will be happy to help on the phone. 2. Reserve a pickup time at sanduskylib.libcal.com/reserve/curbside or over the phone. You can get up to five items each day. 3. Show up, park your car in the designated slot, call the library to say you've arrived, open your car trunk, return to your car and be prepared to show your library card or state ID through your closed car window. All items will be placed in plastic library bags. Return them to the outdoor book drop. Curbside service is available at the library from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Library staffers will answer the phone from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It isn't clear yet when CLEVNET transfers will begin again. Cleveland Public Library, the lead library in the network, is discussing the matter with other CLEVNET member librarians, a Cleveland Public Library staffer said Tuesday. "As of now, nothing official but hopefully by early or mid-July something may happen. Too many variables are unknown right now," the CPL staff member said in an online chat with the Register.
