New salon opens in Perkins

PERKINS TWP. — Everything is coming up roses for two sisters who opened a new salon together in Perkins Township.Amanda and Ashley Adler decided to open the Rose Avenue Salon at 208 W. Perkins Ave. in the same shopping center as Universal Equipment & Rental Co."We were both renting booths from other salons, but we decided it was time to be independent and own something together," Amanda said.They both have been hairdressers since they graduated from Huron High School — Amanda in 2003 and Ashley in 2005 — and together they have a combined 30 years of experience in hair salons.Sisters Amanda and Ashley Adler work on their clients hair Wednesday at Rose Avenue Salon on Perkins Avenue.The sisters renovated the building to turn what was once a Boost Mobile phone store into a high-end salon complete with comfy chairs and a modern look. After finding the right location, the sisters chose to name the salon after the street they grew up on in Huron.Amanda said they've enjoyed being in business together and share many of the same thoughts on how the business should be run like only taking clients by appointment."Since it's by appointment only, we are able to really cater toward the client when they come in and make it a luxurious experience for them," Amanda said.It's open Tuesday through Saturday. The response since the salon opened on May 1 has been positive."The response has been amazing. Every one of our normal clients followed us and they just love it here," Amanda said.
