New juice company squeezes into Catawba Island

CATAWBA ISLAND — A new business in Catawba Island Township is blending well with the community.Valeria Boehler and her fiancé Jesse Taylor opened the Catawba Juice Co. in June. The couple, who live in Oak Harbor, was inspired to start the business after learning about the health benefits."There were some health issues within our family, and we learned how helpful juicing could be," Boehler said. "We wanted to be able to provide the community with healthier options. Everyone is trying to steer toward living a healthier life.""We are trying to bring better inspiration to people on how they eat and how they feel," Taylor said. "It's not just about making a dollar, we are trying to help as much as possible in any way that's possible. It's about bringing positive energy."Catawba Juice Co. makes all organic juices, smoothies and more.The couple uses organic fruits and vegetables from a local farm in Tiffin to produce all of their juices, wellness shots and smoothies."The shelf-life is for three days. There's no water or sugar added to them," Boehler said. "It's just fruits and vegetables."In addition to drinks, the company also offers salads, energy bites and cleansing packages. Since opening, Boehler said the community has welcomed them."It's been fantastic. Everyone has been super supportive of us," Boehler said. "I've heard nothing but good things about our products."The juice bar operates out of a truck parked at the car wash at Ventures Crossings on Southeast Catawba Road (Ohio 53).The couple, however, will be moving to a building located at the same commercial park. They worked out a deal with Mirror Image Detailing to provide them with some front office space.
