UPDATE: Huron man dies from injuries sustained in U.S. 6 accident

UPDATE: Matthew Solberg, of Huron, 51, died Thursday from injuries he sustained in a traffic accident Wednesday.A passenger on his motorcycle when the accident happened, Jacquilyn Dowell, 44, also from Huron, also was injured and also was taken to MetroHealth hospital in Cleveland. She remained in serious condition, according to a news release from the state Highway Patrol.*Names released of people hurt in U.S. 6 crashHURON TWP. — The Ohio State Highway Patrol released the names of three people injured in a serious motorcycle-vehicle crash on Wednesday. Two people riding the motorcycle were injured. They are Matthew Solberg, of Huron, 51, the motorcycle's driver and passenger Jacquilyn Dowell, 44, also from Huron, said Trooper Chris Capizzi of the Sandusky post of the State Highway Patrol. Both were taken by medical helicopter to a MetroHealth hospital in Cleveland, although Dowell was initially taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center. Capizzi said Solberg is in critical condition, while Dowell is in serious condition.Two people in a Ford Escape were also involved in the crash.The driver of the Escape, Vivian Miller, 87, Vermilion, was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center. Her injuries were serious, Capizzi said. The passenger in the Escape, apparently was uninjured in the crash, Capizzi.According to an initial report from the Ohio Highway Patrol, the two on the motorcycle were ejected when the Escape failed to yield as it was turning into a driveway at about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 6 near Lake Erie Arms and Rassi Market, just east of Ohio 61.Capizzi, however, said he is still completing his investigation and will make a decision on issuing a citation only when he finishes his work.He said he is attempting to determine if video of the crash is available from cameras at Lake Erie Arms or Rassi Market."I'm hoping to get the video, if there is video, today at some point," the trooper said.Friends and relatives of Solberg and Dowell have been posting on Facebook, asking for prayers and support."Please pray for my cousin and his girlfriend," wrote Heather Leopold Kirkendall, a Florida resident. "They were in a horrific motorcycle accident this afternoon and my cousin Matt Solberg and Jacqui Dowell are fighting for their lives! Please keep them in your prayers!
