Huron County residents charged for child porn possession

NORWALK — Two men were arrested Tuesday following search warrants regarding alleged child pornography possession. Christopher Anderson, 25, of Wakeman, was charged with pandering obscenity involving a minor, a third-degree felony, and illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, a second-degree felony. James Arnold, 42, of Willard, was charged with three counts of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor, which are second-degree felonies, and two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, both second-degree felonies. The Huron County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the federal justice department's Internet Crimes Against Children task force and Willard police, completed search warrants in the 5800 block of U.S. 20 in Wakeman and the 3300 block of Ohio 598 in Willard on Tuesday, according to a release from the sheriff's office. "The investigations began when sheriff's office Detective Steve Shupp received information from ICAC about child pornography being downloaded at each location. During the investigation both Christopher and James were developed as suspects, probable cause was established and Detective Shupp drafted search warrants for each location," the release states. "The Sheriff's Office has no evidence of the two incidents being connected at this time. There is no evidence of the exploited children residing in or around Huron County." The sheriff's office said the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
