Sandusky man accused of attacking pregnant girlfriend

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky man accused of attacking his pregnant girlfriend faces assault and domestic violence charges.The girlfriend spoke to police from the emergency room at Firelands Regional Medical Center on Friday, according to a Sandusky police report. She told police that Anthony W. Ulery, 28, was responsible for the visible red marks on her neck, abdomen, arm and shin.The woman, who spoke to an officer around 1:45 p.m., told police that she and Ulery argued that day. Then, she said, Ulery "slammed" her into a bed and began punching at her arms. She also told police that Ulery strangled her and hit her knee with a metal pipe, according to the report.The woman left the apartment and ran to a relative's residence before arriving at the hospital, according to the report.Police prepared charges against Ulery and arrested him the same day. He remained in custody as of Monday afternoon, according to jail records.Both the assault and domestic violence charge are classified as first-degree misdemeanors, according to jail records.Anthony Ulery
