Bowling: Krieger pops 300-836, O'Loughlin 813, Biggert 300

Kevin Krieger scored a first for the 2018-19 Sandusky USBC bowling season Dec. 18 when he exploded for a 300 game and an 800 series in the Paramount League at Star Lanes.The 34-year-old St.Mary Central Catholic graduate checked off games of 258-300-278 for a career-best 836 total that included 30 strikes — 22 out of a possible 24 in the last two games.Andrew O'Loughlin also joined the 800 Club in October with 265-258-290—813 in the Kasper Auto Group League at Cedar Lanes.There have been numerous 300 games posted this season. The first to be reported in 2019 came when Ken Biggert, owner of Riverview Lanes, put together 12 strikes in his middle game while bowling in the Berlin Community League at Riverview.Krieger boosted his number of perfect games to seven, and now has three 800s to his credit."This is the second time I've been fortunate to throw a 300 and finish with an 800 series," he said. "I'm bowling just once a week and my average is 230. I'll take that anytime."Krieger followed his 300 game with back-to-back spares in the third game before closing out with 10 more strikes.O'Loughlin, a 2005 Sandusky High grad, was happy with his first 800."My goal has always been to throw 300 and I'm still looking for that one. However, shooting an 800 is nice. I've had 290s, 298s and 299s before, but never 300," Laughlin said."I knew going into the last game I needed a high score for the 800. I left a solid seven in the first frame, then had the last 11 for 290. I wound up with one open frame, and 30 strikes."He also bowls once a week and averages 215.Biggert, 55, sandwiched his 300 between games of 211 and 188 for a 699 series. It marked his third perfect game and he also has an 826 series. His last 300 came two years ago.Biggert has served as the coach for the Perkins girls and boys teams since their inception 20 years ago.He bowls three times a week and averages between 195 and 200.
