Loving 'Poppy' | Sandusky Register The tributes have flowed unceasingly since word of President George H.W. Bush's death late Friday was announced. He's been hailed as a great leader, a great president, a great American, a great father and a great husband. The admiration has been universal, in our view, in a fitting way. Bush 41, the son of a senator, a World War II aviator, father of a president, a Congressman himself, former director of the CIA, ambassador to China and U.S. vice president for Ronald Reagan, was the last member of the Greatest Generation to serve in the Oval office. His death truly is the end of a kinder more gentle era in American politics.
