Stabbing suspect gets probation

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky woman accused of stabbing a man earlier this year was sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to reduced charges.Allison Marcum, 20, of Clinton Street, received the sentence Monday in Erie County Common Pleas Court after pleading guilty in September to a reduced charge of fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools. Marcum was indicted in June on two felonious assault charges and one felony evidence tampering charge.On May 9, police responded to a party in a Campbell Street home after learning a man was stabbed in the chest with a steak knife. Perkins police reported Marcum stabbed the man following an argument and physical altercation. The man was treated and released from Firelands Regional Medical Center that same night.Perkins police asked for the public's help locating her, and she was arrested several days later after detectives received tips pointing to her location.Marcum faces an 11-month prison term if she violates the terms of her probation, according to a sentencing sheet.
