Clemson coach Dabo Swinney enjoys thrill of Cedar Point roller coaster

SANDUSKY — Clemson coach Dabo Swinney definitely had some thrills when his team won the 2016 College Football Championship.But he felt a new sensation, an adrenaline rush the gridiron can't produce, this past weekend in Sandusky.After attending a funeral Saturday in Milan, Swinney celebrated a personal milestone at Cedar Point with family members."I did ride an unbelievable roller coaster on my 10th anniversary as Clemson's head coach," said Swinney, who was initially hired on an interim basis Oct. 13, 2008.Swinney rode Top Thrill Dragster. The attraction tops out at 120 mph, darts up a 90-degree incline, peaks at 420 feet, barrels back down in a 270-degree twist and ends within a 17-second time frame.Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point."All of a sudden, you're straight up, and you're like a rocket going into the sky," Swinney said during a Tuesday press conference in Clemson, South Carolina. "That is what I did on my anniversary: I was just thinking about surviving that roller coaster ride. I wasn't spending much time thinking about the other stuff."At 6-0 this season, Clemson is bearing down on a program-record eighth consecutive season with 10 or more victories, according to the Greenville News.
