5 Questions: Triathlete Brett Collins

I caught up with Brett Collins recently to talk triathlons. Collins, a Margaretta High School graduate who lives in La Grange, Ill., is one of the best triathletes in the country in the 30-34 age group.A triathlon consists of swimming, cycling and running. Makes me tired just thinking about it.Here's how Collins answered five of my questions: Favorite pre-race meal? "Oatmeal with bananas and protein powder."Favorite triathlon swimming course? "Chicago. You get to swim in the marina. It's a great environment to get into Lake Michigan at 5 in the morning."How many marathons have you run? "Zero. That's a lot of running."Favorite vacation spot: "California. We did a five-year anniversary trip in Napa wine country and Yosemite. I love being outdoors."Cubs or White Sox? "Can I say, 'Go Tribe'? If it's Chicago it'll be the Cubs. I tried to root for them in the (2016) World Series but I couldn't do it and cheered for Cleveland the whole way. That's the one sports team I followed growing up.
