Report: Intoxicated man assaulted people

SANDUSKY — An intoxicated Castalia man was arrested after he tried to fight multiple people and struck two early Friday morning, a Sandusky police report states.Trevor Ryan, 31, was charged with persistent disorderly conduct while intoxicated.Police arrived in the 100 block of W. Water St. just after 1 a.m. for a disturbance and saw Ryan fighting another man, the report states. Officers put Ryan in hand restraints until other officers arrived and placed him in the back of a police cruiser. When police talked to him, Ryan was "highly intoxicated," having slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and he was difficult to understand. He only told police someone "slammed his head against the concrete," according to the report.One victim told officers Ryan tried to fight multiple people inside the bar and soon went outside to do the same thing. The man saw someone put Ryan in a headlock, which he broke away from and started hitting the victim and another person, the report states. Soon, the victim pinned Ryan to the ground until police came. During the fight, a man's vehicle was damaged, but he didn't want to pursue charges.Officers spoke with a witness, who confirmed the victim's story.
