Dancer's Bag moves to new location in Sandusky

SANDUSKY — They're mostly concerned with the moves of their dancers, which consists of ballet, hip-hop, tap and jazz routines.But, for the past few weeks, employees of Dancer's Bag worried about a move not involving dance.A devastating storm July 26 ripped through Sandusky and damaged three adjacent East Water Street buildings, including one housing Dancer's Bag, it's home for the past decade.The destruction forced Sue Laremore, who's owned Dancer's Bag for almost 21 years, to relocate."We didn't have a roof," Laremore said. "It affected all the heating, cooling and ventilation."Luckily for her, Laremore quickly found a new spot — 1304 Hayes Ave., sharing plaza space with Jimmy John's."Maybe this is a blessing," said Laremore, who recently opened at the new location. "We have a lot more parking, and people won't have to walk two blocks to get to us."Dancer's Bag, located at 1304 Hayes Ave. in Sandusky, offers dance clothing, shoes and accessories for children and adults.Laura Cornett, the store's manager, doubled-down on Laremore's comments."The people like it," Cornett said. The store specializes in selling a number of specific shoes, clothing and accessories for both children and adults."There aren't too many shops around like us," Laremore said.
