Original postFREMONT — A dramatic hearing, featuring victim statements, ended with former Sandusky County sheriff's detective Sean O'Connell being sentenced to two years in prison. Visiting Judge Patricia Cosgrove gave O'Connell, 54, the sentence after she asked him a lengthy serious of questions concerning decisions and indecisions he made during his 13-month investigating into Heather Bogle's killing. O'Connell pleaded guilty to one count of felony evidence tampering July 30 — what was supposed to be his first trial day — in exchange for other counts including dereliction of duty and obstructing being dismissed.
