BGSU waives application fees

SANDUSKY — Bowling Green State University continues to make changes for students' benefit during the coronavirus pandemic. The university will waive its $45 application fees for all prospective undergraduate and graduate students, a news release announced Tuesday. Commitments from incoming students will be accepted though the spring and summer. For graduate students, tests like the GRE (Graduate Records Examinations) and GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) won't be required for admission into any master's degree and graduate certificate programs for summer and fall 2020. Additionally, the deadlines are extended for BGSU's freshman academic scholarship, which ranges from $1,000 to $8,000 for incoming freshmen, and the $4,000 BG Success scholarship for non-Ohio students. While on-campus visits are postponed, prospective students can set up a phone appointment with their admissions counselor or participate in virtual admissions information sessions at 1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, according to the news release. A virtual visit site where students can talk with a current student, take a virtual campus tour and ask financial aid questions is also available. "Students are always our first priority," said Cecilia Castellano, BGSU's vice president for enrollment management. "During these times of uncertainty, we want to make sure we are doing everything we can to accommodate them." Find information at bgsu.edu.
