CP's Dinosaurs Alive! area going extinct

SANDUSKY — In the most dramatic way possible, Cedar Point released a "movie trailer" showing the Dinosaurs Alive! is closing Sept. 3,No big surprises here, as the seven-year contract resulted in its removal at the end of last season at Kings Island and this year at both Dorney Park and Canada's Wonderland. At this time, Kings Dominion is the only other park that has yet to announce the Dinosaurs Alive! removal after this season. The removal of Dinosaurs Alive! opens up the central island within the park that Millennium Force loops around. While lots of guests like to speculate that "it opens up a huge piece of land," in reality, it does not when you look at where Millennium Force currently resides. What Cedar Point also announced in the movie trailer is that the land formerly used by Dinosaurs Alive! will become Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island, opening in the summer 2019 (Note how it does not state "spring 2019" or "May 2019"). We assume this is because another announcement for a new ride could be coming. What could the Forbidden Frontier encompass?"Grab your map and prepare for a minute-by-minute real-life adventure, where you and others are challenged, questioned and pushed to the limits in both brain and brute power," according to the trailer. "Be immersed in interactive encounters with the island inhabitants, push yourself with physically active challenges that test your resourcefulness and fortitude. It's your job to discover and uncover all that you can, to solve the mystery surrounding the Forbidden Frontier and return to tell the tale. Every ending is different and determined by you and the secrets you unlock!"Forbidden Frontier sounds very similar to the A Pirate's Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas at Walt Disney World. Guests receive a pirate map and special card that they use to visit interactive stations throughout Adventure Land. After a series of different maps and adventures, guests receive a free Fast Pass for Pirates of the Caribbean. For the second time this month, Cedar Point announced it would scrap an attraction. On Aug. 3, amusement park executives indicated they would cease operations for the Witches' Wheel.
